The World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) will hold its 69th annual conference on 10-12 May 2016 in Austin, Texas. The WAPOR conference will convene immediately prior to and overlap with the first day of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) conference. The conference committee is currently reviewing abstracts and will then organize the program related to this year’s conference theme.

Abstract deadline: November 13, 2015
Notification of decisions: January 20, 2016
Final day to confirm participation: February 8, 2016

Registration opens: February 16, 2016
Deadline for paper award submissions: April 1, 2016
Last day for early registration: April 6, 2016
Last day for WAPOR hotel room rates: April 9, 2016
Papers due to session chairs: April 22, 2016

Hotel Information

WAPOR has negotiated a discounted room rate of $229 for single and double occupancy, plus applicable taxes (currently 15 percent). Room rates are available to attendees, based on availability, beginning Saturday, May 7 (check-in) and ending Sunday, May 15 (check-out). The deadline to make reservations with this rate is April 9. Reservations can be made online at www.kimptonhotels.com and by telephone at 1.800.KIMPTON (hotel: 1.512.542.5300); please use the code 0509WAPORO to secure WAPOR rates.

A credit-card guarantee is required to hold reservations. When reservations are made, the hotel will require a deposit equal to the room rate and tax for the first night of each reservation. This deposit is refundable if the hotel receives notice of cancellation at least 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival. Upon check-in, each guest is required to present a valid credit card. Hotel check-in is 3:00 p.m. and check-out is noon. The hotel will do its best to accommodate late checkouts, requests for which should be made at the front desk. The hotel may charge $50.00 for late checkouts.
