Award & Development Funds
You can donate to any of our awards or development funds at any time. Please select the fund you would like to support and enter the donation amount. Every contribution — large or small — plays a vital role.
Alexis de Tocqueville Award Fund
Supports an award for the best conference paper addressing democracy and public opinion, with particular attention to papers concerning emerging or consolidating democracies.
Elizabeth Nelson Award Fund
Recognizes outstanding papers presented at the annual conference by scholars from transitional societies (tiers B, C, or D). This award honors WAPOR Past President Elizabeth Nelson (1991–1992).
Naomi C. Turner Award Fund
Supports a prize for the best student paper presented at the annual conference. Endowed in memory of Naomi C. Turner by her son, WAPOR Past President Fred Turner (1989–1990).
Janet A. Harkness Student Paper Award Fund
Jointly supported by WAPOR and AAPOR, this fund awards emerging scholars conducting high-quality research in multi-national, multi-cultural, and multi-lingual contexts. The fund provides a cash prize and travel support for participation in the WAPOR/AAPOR Conference.
Helen Dinerman Award Fund
Funds the annual award recognizing exceptional contributions to survey research methodology. Established in 1981, this prestigious award honors the legacy of Helen Dinerman and her lifelong achievements.
Robert M. Worcester Award Fund
Supports recognition of the best paper published each year in the International Journal of Public Opinion Research (IJPOR). The recipient is selected by a committee appointed by the WAPOR Council, in collaboration with the IJPOR editorial board.
Global Development Fund
Your donation to the Global Development Fund helps expand access to WAPOR activities for underrepresented regions. This includes:
