WAPOR Asia Pacific’s Mission
WAPOR Asia Pacific emphasizes the importance of conducting scientifically sound public-opinion research and how this information can be useful to society and its various publics.
- Promote in each country or region in Asia the right to conduct and publish scientific research on what the people and its groups think and how this thinking is influenced by various factors.
- Promote the knowledge and application of scientific methods in this objective.
- Assist and promote the development and publication of public opinion research in Asia.
- Promote worldwide the publication of public opinion research on Asia.
- Promote international cooperation and exchange among academic and commercial researchers, journalists and political actors, as well as between the representatives of the different scientific disciplines.
Key Activities and Initiatives
- Tokyo 2025 — The 8th Annual Conference, hosted and co-organized by the Japanese Association for Public Opinion Research (JAPOR) and Rikkyo University Center for Statistics and Information (Tokyo, Japan), held November 21–23, 2025.
- Jakarta 2026 — The 9th Annual Conference, hosted and organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), scheduled for July 27–29, 2026 (details to be updated by the chapter).
