WAPOR Member Survey Results
Thank you to the almost 150 members that took part in our membership survey earlier this year. WAPOR Council has received a full presentation of the findings and your views are already helping us to plan for the future. This includes looking at options for the 2018 annual conference, improving how we communicate with members (such as the development of a brand new WAPOR website) and making sure we prioritize the key activities important to our members.
Here are some of the highlights from the survey results:
- 80% of respondents are satisfied with their WAPOR membership overall.
- 82% agree that “WAPOR is the leading international organisation for professionals working or interested in public opinion”.
- The top three priorities for WAPOR members are: “increasing knowledge and application of scientific research methods” (64%), “promoting international cooperation and exchange of ideas” (63%), and “promoting the development of public opinion research” (59%).
- High levels of member interest exist in “thematic research groups to help people with the same interests connect with each other” (89%) and “regional research groups to help people working in the same parts of the world connect with each other” (73%).
- 70% of respondents feel that they are informed about WAPOR’s activities.
- While the majority of members frequently use/receive IJPOR and WAPOR’s electronic newsletter, fewer than three in ten (28%) regularly use the WAPOR website.
