Life after BREXIT?
In the aftermath of Brexit, WAPOR has signed an open letter calling for EU institutions to renew their efforts in citizen-centric and evidence based policy-making. The letter, co-signed by ESOMAR and SYNTEC Etudes and addressed to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Commissioner for Research, Science, and Innovation Carlos Moedas, calls for establishing a cross-party and multidisciplinary group to study the implications of the referendum and identifying “lasting solutions to address it from a citizen-centric approach.” The document emphasizes the need to scientifically assess and understand citizens’ needs and aspirations both in the United Kingdom and the EU, and ultimately improve policy-makers’ communication with various constituencies about myriad complex issues.
