Call for Nominations: WAPOR Latam 2025 Election

The World Association for Public Opinion Research – Latin America (WAPOR Latam) invites nominations for its 2025 election to fill key positions within the Executive Council. This is an excellent opportunity for members to contribute to the advancement of public opinion research in the region and help guide the association’s activities over the next term. Positions Open for Election include:
Vice President/President-elect. This member serves on the WAPOR Latam Board for a total of six years beginning May 1, 2025: two as Vice President, two as President, and two as Past President. The Vice President/President-elect acts as an alternate to the President and is a member of the Executive Council. As President, he or she collaborates with the WAPOR Latam Board to advance the organization’s mission. The President oversees strategic and operational efforts, including, but not limited to, staff training and exchange, research development, industry advancement, and working groups on the conduct and use of polls in elections. The Vice President promotes the WAPOR Code of Ethics, liaises with other industry associations and is responsible for the ongoing work of WAPOR. The Vice President undertakes to organise the Congress after 2 years of his/her election in his/her country. WAPOR Latam Constitution requires that the President and the Vice President/President-elect be from different countries. Therefore, members from Peru cannot apply for this position on this occasion.
Three Council Members. Three WAPOR Latam Board Members shall serve for a total of two years starting May 1, 2025. Board Members will work closely with the WAPOR Latam Board to advance the organization’s mission, participate in regular Board meetings, and contribute to the strategic and operational efforts of this institution. All Board Members must be members of WAPOR Global.
Eligibility & Requirements.
Candidates must be members of WAPOR Latam in good standing. Council members should represent diverse geographical and professional backgrounds to ensure balanced representation.
Nomination Process
Nominations, including self-nominations, shall be sent no later than on Monday, March 17, 2025 to waporlatam@gmail.com, copy to waporoffice@gmail.com. Candidates should send an email to with the subject line: “WAPOR Latam 2025 Election – Nomination” including full name and affiliation; position sought; a brief statement of interest (max. 300 words); a short bio (max. 200 words). All nominations will be reviewed by the Electoral Committee, who will then prepare a slate of nominations from the individual membership, presenting two or more candidates for each office
Voting Procedure
Voting will take place between March 21 and April 20. All WAPOR Latam members who have their dues paid before March 21 will be eligible to vote in this election. Voting will be organized electronically; an individual personalized link to the electronic ballot will be sent to every member. Voting is anonymous. The Past President, acting as Chair of the Electoral Committee, will announce the results following the conclusion of the voting period through WAPOR Latam’s official communication channels.
Serving on the WAPOR Latam Council provides an opportunity to influence the future of public opinion research in Latin America, foster international collaboration, and contribute to the promotion of high professional and methodological standards in survey research.
