WAPOR mourns the loss of Joe Davis
Dear Colleagues,
As many of you may have already heard, out dear colleague Joseph Zacharias Davis of Barbados passed away on May 25, 2022 at the age of 75. Joe was an active WAPOR member for many years and became the National Representative of Barbados in early 2022, just in time to complete not one, but two questionnaires in support of the Freedom Survey.
As his colleagues across the Caribbean have shared their thoughts and feelings, Joe will be greatly missed. He has left a legacy of goodness and integrity and he touched many lives in a most inspiring way. Joe would quickly became more than a business partner and professional colleague, he became a good friend.
Over more than 40 years, Joe created two different businesses in Barbados. The first was Caribbean Systems, Ltd. When he passed away, Joe was actively running opinion and market research projects across the Caribbean as Managing Director of Systematic Marketing and Research Services. It has been my privilege to know and work with Joe since 1984, across a number of countries in the Caribbean, doing surveys in support of election campaigns, development-related projects, and media assessment. Joe was always up to the task, leading research teams in over 20 countries over a long and varied career, marked by a commitment to quality, a solid understanding of what clients are expecting and collegiality. Joe, thanks for all you have done and how you have inspired so many of us. We will miss you.
With warm regards,
David A. Jodice
