Leadership Transition Announcement

Dear WAPOR members,

Thank you to all colleagues who participated in the Consultation Meeting on November 30, following the announcement of the 2024 election results (https://wapor.org/2024-wapor-election-results/).

The purpose of the meeting was to engage with members and gather input on how best to address the leadership vacancy following the resignation of the WAPOR Vice President and the incoming President for the 2025–2026 term, David Jodice. A total of 35 members attended the meeting.

We appreciate all WAPOR members who expressed their opinions on this matter. Within one day after the meeting, the Council quickly voted in support of the following motion moved by the President: The President appoints Christian Haerpfer as Vice President to fill the vacancy left by David Jodice without the need to hold a referendum. Christian subsequently accepted this appointment on December 1, and will proceed to become our WAPOR President on January 1, 2025.

We sincerely thank Christian Haerpfer for his support to WAPOR during these challenging times and for agreeing to assume the Presidency without apprenticeship. We also express gratitude to all Council members who have shown readiness to provide support and advice to assist the new President.
