WAPOR 2016 Annual Conference Highlights

The 69th WAPOR annual conference is coming up fast. This year promises to be another year of excellent panels, stimulating discussions, and fun-filled times. This year WAPOR goes to Austin, Texas. We are looking forward to seeing you all there. Here are some highlights from the conference. The WAPOR welcome reception will be on May 10th from 6:00 to 8 p.m., which is a great time to catch up with everyone, and meet new members.

The plenary speaker this year is Dr. Miguel Basáñez, Fletcher School, Tufts University. The WAPOR president’s welcome and Dr. Miguel’s talk is scheduled on May 11th from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. The WAPOR awards banquet is on the same day from 7-9 p.m. The sessions this year include many exciting topics including discussions on conducting research with hard-to-reach populations; discussions on response and non-response; mixed methodologies; research on social media and political participations; and sessions on topics as diverse as health, education, big data, income inequality, science, political identity, or power dynamics of social media China.
